As
many of you have realized Lipoxidil has significantly
cut back their product list. This has several
reasons:
The
FDA has recently contacted our US distributor
with the advice that some products cannot be legally
sold as cosmetics in the USA and would require
a full NDA or FDA approval. We do not agree with
this opinion but we do not have the financial
means to argue with the FDA or file an NDA. So
in honoring the FDA´s advice we have discontinued
several products for the sale in the US. These
products might be still available overseas. If
you live in the USA please do not ask us to deliver
from overseas. We cannot do it !
The
continuing weakness of the US-$ against the Euro
would have made it necessary to increase prices
by 30 %. As our true liposomal high-tech products
are already expensive we do not see a future market
with the increased prices.
From
desperate sounding emails we know that our innovative
and unique products helped many many customers
to maintain and improve their hair status and
that these products are needed for continuing
success. We sincerely apologize for the current
situation and hope to work out a solution as fast
as possible. Keep in mind that the new Lipoxidil
MLL products are still available. |

It´s here. Lipoxidil 20 S Lotion
Now
available in the US for $ 49 ! |
| October,10th 2006 |
Our new MLL technology makes it possible.
Lipoxidil announces a high dosage bald spot and
receding hairline treatment.
Minoxidil 20 S - a 20 % minoxidil lotion without
alcohol to treat these stubborn
areas previously not responding to conventional
minoxidil. As bald spots are often associated with
a deposit of
so-called "collagen or connective tissue streamers"
beneath the follicle and micro-inflammation
additional products to treat these symptoms will
follow. For now Roxithromycin and InFlamil should
be used to eliminate inflammation before starting
a Minoxidil-S treatment. |

Today a new study about
liposomal finasteride will be published in
the International
Journal of Pharmaceutics. This study confirms
what we have said for years. Liposomes are the most
advanced delivery system and outrun alcoholic solutions
by far. Liposomal finasteride is about
600 % more effective in reaching the critical
PSU than alcoholic solutions. Since 2002 we have
concluded that liposomal finasteride as a topical
can be effective in treating AGA. |
| September,30th 2006 |
As promised we have now published
parts of Dr.Mahe´s
article about micro-inflammation. In his study
he concludes that the genetic factors and androgen
metabolism are only responsible for some of the
AGA cases. The new focus lays on microinflammation,
fibrosis and sebaceous gland enlargement. Dr. Mahe
attempts to integrate the neglected microinflammatory
aspect of alopecia into the complex etiology of
AGA. It becomes more and more obvious that Finasteride,
Minoxidil or Spironolactone are only the treatment
of choice for about 40 % of AGA sufferers. The search
continues for the remaining 60 %. |

Not many people have realized the
"hidden sensation " of this years EHRS
conference. Researchers at the German University
of Jena found that caffeine
counteracts the growth inhibitory effects
of testosterone. Growth
suppression caused by DHT was ex-vivo completely
neutralized by caffeine 0.005 %. Further caffeine
significantly stimulated hair growth. Because
of the ex vivo character of the study the exact
effective dosage for a topical caffeine preparation
needs to be determined. 6 % minoxidil, caffeine,
cyanocobalamin and carnitin tartrate will be part
of the new Lipoxidil-6
coming out this August |

We
have received a lot of questions about the penetration
properties of NanoSal shampoo. There is an article
published by Salvona, Inc. which contains
interesting facts about the abilities of NanoSal.
Please read.

Lipoxidil introduces a highly effective
Minoxidil shampoo.
Up till today shampoos were not effective in treating
hairloss as they rinse off and the penetration time
for active ingredients was too short. The NanoSal
nanospheres solved the problem. They have bioadhesive
properties and stick to the skin even after rinsing
off the shampoo. Nanospheres release the active
ingredient minoxidil during the next 6 hours after
application. Blow-drying even further enhances the
activity of nanospheres. There is no easier way to
use minoxidil for men and women. Now available. |

After a while some news
from Lipoxidil. The German
Research Department has mentioned Lipoxidil
in their current research project of developing
advanced liposomal substances. Thank you for that.
Lipoxidil as always ahead ! |

The
world´s first completely alcohol and PPG free
NS-Minoxidil based on solid hydrophobic nanospheres
and a controlled release delivery system with bioadhesive
properties. No more grease , no more itching, no
residue,no inflammation caused by overuse of topical
alcohol.The possibilities for bioadhesive nanospheres
are endless - even Minoxidil shampoo and conditioners
are possible. Finally a Minoxidil for everyone -
easy to use for men and women. Available in a 3.3
% cooling version unscented or with a slight hint
of citrus fragrance. You will never use another
Minoxidil again. More information about this exciting
product here. |

Our
new experimental product
t-Adenosine solution is available in a
new version 3 with
some changes:
°
Minoxidil addition to use the synergistic effect
of both ingredients possible on special request.
t-Adenosine for women will be delivered without
minoxidil.
°
Rooibos hair growth stimulant added - Papain moved
to a new product treating fibrosis ( available
summer 2005 )
°
liposomal delivery system adjusted
Our
product contains no
glycol as in the commercially
available product. If you do not see Adenosine
on that order
page it is not available in your country.
As the
2004 Watanabe
study shows Adenosine basically thickens vellus
hair but does not change hair density. So it might
be useful to combine Adenosine with hair growth
promoting ingredients for a synergistic effect. |

Brand
new versions of Genistil-R
,Genistil-RM,
Lipoxidil Plus and Lipoxidil 1.5 %
are released for the US market. These versions
are already a major success in Europe and Japan.
Using new "sandwich-nanosome
" technology we were able to reduce alcohol
to less than 10 %.
Most commercial products contain 40 to
60 % alcohol and PPG. There are some
new studies showing concerns about alcohol
as caspase-3 and apoptosis inducer being contraproductive
for the use of topical hairloss products. Activation
of caspase 3 is thought to be a direct cause of
cell apoptosis
Experiments
revealed that processing of caspase-3 is a principal
event during apoptosis of hair cell types. Conclusion:
alcohol simular as TGF-b induces caspase-3 which
causes apoptosis of hair cells.Alcohol strongly
reduces the positive effect of anti-hairloss ingredients
and should be reduced to a minimum or elimitated
at all.
Right
now we are in the early stages of developing a
new product which strongly inhibits TGF-b and
caspase-3.It is a rather simple but very promising
nanosome combination of topical Finasteride with
a second well known botanical ingredient.
All
Lipoxidil products are now enhanced with
L-Arginine and Biotin. Our own studies have
shown that both ingredients are ideal supplements
to minoxidil.More about the products

Very
interesting
new study about the soy isoflavones and phytoestrogens
Genistein,Daidzein and Equol. The most interesting
parts are between the lines." Down-regulation
of androgen-receptor protein was found to occur
immediately following neonatal exposure to estradiol
benzoate and then persist through adulthood
indicating a permanent imprint on the ability
of the prostate to express normal AR levels
" Maybe in the future genetic predisposed
males babies can be "vaccinated" with
estradiol benzoate to prevent hairloss ? And it
seems to be that phytoestrogens are more and more
the key to fight hairloss in a natural way. Remarkable
- the phytoestrogens were fed to the animals as
part of a regular diet and nevertheless showed
results. " .. it is possible that the reduction
in AR expression seen in the present study are
a result of high circulating phytoestrogens
from diet and subsequently high steady
state levels of phytoestrogens.." Of course
this is a prostate study but circulating phytoestrogens
will influence AR expression throughout the body.
What are phytoestrogens ? Read
here. For experimental purposes we have developed
a pharmaceutical liposomal Genistein /
Daidzein solution ( available in Europe
only ) as an additional topical treatment to suppress
the androgen receptor formation especially in
the scalp. AR suppression is much more effective
than blocking the already existing AR.
At the
side it is interesting that Genistein has also
properties to
reduce UVB induced damage in human skin
by inhibiting apoptosis.
Apoptosis
is also involved in AGA.

Very interesting study about TNF-alpha
inhibition by Green Tea." Of greatest
interest to those with androgenetic alopecia is
evidence that green tea can influence serum concentrations
of hormones and inhibit TNF-a. Research in this
area is primarily with reference to hormonal effects
on the development of cancer and how green tea and
other caffeine containing products might mediate
changes in hormone levels. For example, high intake
of Green tea has been associated with higher levels
of sex hormone binding globulin (SBHG) and lowered
levels of serum estradiol (estrogen) concentration
in women (Nagata 1998). Increased SBHG may be of
help in reducing the effects of androgenetic alopecia.
SBHG is a molecule that binds with high affinity
to testosterone. Testosterone bound to SBHG is not
bioactive and cannot bind to androgen receptors
or be converted into dihydrotestosterone. An increase
in SBHG concentration effectively reduces free testosterone.
Green tea may also have an affect on the type I
5 alpha reductase enzyme that converts testosterone
to dihydrotestosterone. These two distinct, but
complementary, effects of green tea may influence
androgenetic alopecia" ( Mechanisms
of cancer and hairloss prevention by tea polyphenols
based on inhibition of TNF-alpha expression, Saitama
Cancer Center Research Institute, Japan ) |
